Let’s bring to you Makayla Rogerson, the second time cover model, and consistent April Cover girl for WMH Magazine
Question 1.
How does it feel to be on the cover, 2nd time, first was April 2019 and now for April 2020?
I’m truly honored to have another cover with World Model Hunt as the years keep moving it’s nice to be able to watch my growth as well as the growth in the magazine, being able to look back and compare the growth and improvement all parties have made.
Question 2.
It is your birthday month; how do you plan to spend the day in 2020?
This year I don’t really have plans as I am quarantined in my house, so probably just going to spend time with my son and my boyfriend.
Question 3.
Your son is about 2 years old and blessed with all he needs to be a super kid model. what are your plans for him?
At this time, he has only done 1 commercial project, last year. I don’t have any plans as of now for any career starting, maybe 1 day he’ll want to get into it. We’re just going to play things by ear and see as we go.
Question 4.
Bringing up your personal life, you recently started to share pictures with your boyfriend. Let our audience know about him and what so special about him that won your heart!
So actually my boyfriend and I first met in elementary school when we used to hang around and tease one another (like a push and shove kind of thing) I’ve had a crush on him since we were kids but then we were disconnected for a few years. One day this past summer, I have just finished up a photoshoot and the photographer bought me A&W, as we were pulling out of the parking lot I saw Jordan drive by, so I shot him a message saying I saw him and we started talking from that day on. It was just an instant connection; I just knew when I saw Jordan and started talking to him again it was literally like love at first sight and I felt that I could be myself around him.
Our first date was beautiful! It started with an Italian dinner then we went on a gorgeous night walk along the escarpment in Niagara Falls, the fireflies were out dancing for us along the path, it couldn’t have been more perfect!
Question 5.
How has 2020 been so far for you in modeling?
This year I’ve only really done a couple of things in January including walking in the Modern Bride Wedding Show and being one of the Canadian Representatives for IIDM Rides Magazine at Motorama, other than that it’s been slow due to Covid-19. Hopefully that everybody is staying safe in their homes as I have been safe in my home with my family and I’m glad to say that we are all in good health.
Question 6.
Tell us about your international experience with Miss Progress International-2019?
The Miss Progress International was the very first pageant in my life that I have competed in as well as it was my very first time flying abroad. This experience was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I was very honored for every single moment that I was given I would like to thank Cesca my National Director and Designer for choosing me to be the Ambassador for Canada in this pageant focused on women empowerment and not particularly on beauty.
Being able to experience the country of Italy, being able to meet the people, venture through the little towns and everything that we were able to experience from the different restaurants to the bee farms and Olive Farms, every moment in between and every moment that happened was absolutely amazing and breathtaking to be able to embrace all the beauty as well as all of the history and knowledge that the country and the people have to offer.
Question 7.
Going back in time, what would you change in your life and why?
We all wish we can go back in time and change something in our past, however, I wouldn’t want to change anything because everything that has happened in my life has made me the person, I am today. I am still growing and learning from those experiences and I will continue to learn and grow from my future experiences.
Question 8.
The world is going through a lot right now. And though we all are sure things will be alright sooner or later, but meanwhile what are the changes in your lifestyle that you are going through and how do you cope with it?
Not as many changes for myself as I am a stay-at-home mom while doing modeling for my job but most of the time I am at home when I’m not doing shots or in Toronto doing jobs. I usually am home doing desk work for RHouse while raising my son.
Question 9.
How important is an agency or mentor for a beginner model?
For a beginner model, it is very important to have an agency or a mentor being able to guide you in the right direction that you would like to go in your career most safely and to help you understand what your job is as a model. Along with that, they are also able to get you the training you need to grow as a model.
Question 10.
What would you like to say to all the new and upcoming models and any tip if you would like to share?
Whether you’re with an agent or not and you want to start modeling first thing I would recommend is to get an Instagram page for your modeling started and ask your friends to help you out by taking photos of you in different outfits in different locations (look at some different models that you follow on Instagram copy some their poses them make the poses your own). Next is to post them on Instagram so you can start a portfolio, that is how you’re going to be able to connect with photographers and artists in the industry.
