World Model Hunt is always looking to recognize models and Talents who have not only struggled with their career but have been extraordinary as well.
In the July edition, which is all about America, we are going to be looking at the life of Nicole Johnson is a model and an incredible businesswoman.
Her ability to do that little extra for everything she puts her hand into makes her different from all.
Let us just get to know more about her through her.
Question 1.
Congratulations, Nicole Johnson, for making the cover of World Model Hunt Magazine. How does it feel to get on here?
I am beyond happy and excited about making the cover… I have been a huge fan of the magazine for so long… to see myself on the cover is a bucket list achievement!! ❤️
Question 2.
What would you say your goal in life has been?
Happiness.
Above all I want to be happy with whatever I do…. from career/jobs to modeling to hobbies… money has never been a huge motivator for me, although it is great to have, I genuinely believe happiness does not come from it. Modeling and career choices have always been something I chose to do instead of having to do. You must work your whole life. I would rather love or enjoy it than be miserable.
Question 3.
When did you decide that you wanted to be a model?
(Nicole Johnson) When I was 17, I always idolized runway models… I have been a big fan of anything artistic as well. I started with an agency and a lot of the training came naturally to me. When I booked my first paying job with Paul Mitchell I fell in love with the atmosphere and the people. Runway though is my passion! I love it. Making new friends from all over is a huge bonus.
Question 4.
You have what we would call an entrepreneurial brain. What new ideas are you working on currently that we would get to see in the future?
I have a couple of things in the works… Seek and Chic is a project my boyfriend and I started. It is entertaining along the lines of “find the difference” or “search and find.” We do photoshoots to showcase designers, stores, MUA’s, etc., and turn them into engaging ways for viewers to play an interactive game. People really enjoy them, and it is a great way to network and showcase those around us. we are also working on season two of our podcast for children DROOLY KIDS… it is completely made from scratch on all major platforms and is FREE. It is both stories and songs created for entertainment or to be played in car rides and bedtimes. We have been charting in the top 50 all over the world for Spotify and Apple, but we were the proudest when we got into the top 10 for the USA…
Question 5.
Can you tell us more about BBB- Batavia’s Best Businesses?
BBB is a web series based in Batavia helping to promote some of the great businesses we have here. The team, THE BATAVIAN (online news source) and WBTA (radio station I work at on-air) have come together to showcase a business’s in such a way as to highlight what makes them not only amazing but how and why they have stayed in business for so long. It gives the viewers a sneak peek into what goes on behind the “scenes” and informing them about some of the great opportunities. We have more webisodes to come soon.
Question 6.
You are fun, full of life, energetic, and amazing. What is your secret (the source of all that energy).?
It is funny because people ask me this all the time… honestly for me, it is the little things. the secret is to keep things simple. Set goals constantly to fulfill. I always look forward to positive things no matter the situation. It can be as simple as being stuck doing something horrible but knowing you have an exciting tv show to watch when you get it Donetsk goes home. If anything, reward yourself always and use that to focus some excitement.
Question 7.
If you had to support a cause, what would that be?
This is so tough!!!!! I am a giant lover of animals, dogs especially. There is something so pure and innocent about animals. I would build a rescue for all of them if I could!! I am also a huge supporter of equality. Also, I view people as people. I hate to give or ask for a title whether it is relating to nationality, ethnicity, or even race. So many labels are being thrown around by people that I can see how an offense can be taken or even fear for those already scared or suffering.
Question 8.
Looking back in time, what would you say was your best moment in life?
I would have to say the year I turned 35, I was granted so many opportunities!!!! I was starting the production for BBB, modeling was crazy busy, I was invited to NY fashion week to walk the runway, met the man I’m going to marry, had more publications than I can count, and traveled to some of my most favorite places!! That entire year was full of such happy memories. But of course, getting the cover of WMH magazine is a GIANT “best moment” for sure!!!
Question 9.
Let us have our model audience know more about the worst phase of your life in modeling and how did you overcome that.?
When I started modeling, I started experiencing what I now know to be PAD (panic and anxiety disorder). it was not from modeling but started to really put a damper on all aspects of my life. I was in Florida for a fashion show and started experiencing bad anxiety after the show in which I had to stay in my room to calm down for the night while everyone celebrated… after another couple of months of modeling I had to quit. I started having such bad panic attacks that I completely became agoraphobic… my entire life was put on hold. Around the age of 30 and living so “alone” I finally sought help and learned what I was experiencing and how much I was not “alone”. I started treatments and educated myself as much as I could to allow myself to have a life again. A friend of mine had stayed in modeling and it grew a fire under my a** to desperately want to get back into it… I was alone and had lost all my contacts from the years before. I found casting for a fashion show locally in western NY and decided to give it a shot and I nailed it. From there I started reaching out and got a photoshoot for a promotion for a photographer’s website update. From there I pursued and went for anything I could on my own. No help, no guidance, and no agency to fall back on. I am so proud of myself for going for it and achieving what I have so far…
Question 10.
What would you like to say to other upcoming models? Any specific tips that might help them?
My biggest push when coaching is to work on faces!! It is so important to learn expressions when doing print, work especially. Something as simple as a soft eye open can change a whole look. Also, the chin. Always put the chin down and push it out. It feels weird but it helps to showcase your lines. Little things like that can change and improve a look. When shooting always come up with options to make it hard to pick that one perfect shot. Make me love them all!!!
