No Size Limit on Beauty We live in a society where we are often made to feel, ‘If you aren’t thin, you aren’t beautiful’. With covering and releasing articles that claim that media does have a negative effect on an individual’s body image, it is now time to sit back and think, ‘Does it matter? Does size really matter?’ Nearly half of our population is bodily anxious, and people are shying away beneath the sheaths of insecurity. But who is to blame?
Starting from our feed to YouTube recommendations, diet plans, and ‘how to lose weight’ promises, did you ever think that you really need this? What the mirror shows is not what makes you. It is what you really are within that skin. And your skin does not really define who you are. Society sets standards of beauty, with everything above the medium line is obese, you are not worth anything, and then the mockery comes to play. But did anyone ever teach or tell you, you are actually beautiful the way you are? What matters is you, if you are kind, people will love and cherish you no matter what.
‘To all the girls who think you are ugly because you are not a size 0, you’re the beautiful one. It’s the society who’s ugly’.
– Marilyn Monroe
Observe and Enhance
Look around yourself, there are thousands of people, but did you ever care about what size they wear? No. So, it does not matter. Do not let yourself down just because you are not as thin as you like. Until and unless you are healthy, and have a good metabolism, the size doesn’t matter.
What matters is you being happy. And if you are happy having that packet of chips and that tub of ice cream, go for it! Stop limiting your life in that numerical system aesthetics, stop going on for that waist size or those calories, start loving yourself for the way you are.
Creating a Utopia
Do not rush perfection, it is a utopia. Maybe you are facing some health issues or are sick, maybe you are overstressed and just need a bit of rest. There can be many reasons for you struggling and getting concerned about your weight, but cut slack on yourself, start with slow steps, work out, relax, and eat healthily. At the end of the day, it is you being comfortable in your own skin, loving your body, and realizing how beautiful you really are!
Let us be comfortable in ourselves, let us stop fitting in the set standards, and love ourselves the way we deserve to be loved. Buy those comfortable clothes and feel happy, because after all, it is you that matters!
Conclusion
‘Remember that the dress must follow the body of a woman, not her body following the shape of the dress’, as said by Hubert de Givenchy.
You are beautiful, in fact, we all are. Let us stop letting society change our views and dictate theirs on us. Body size does not matter, what matters is you.
